HIPIA and GIZ Partner to Strengthen PSHEA Policy Implementation in Hawassa SEZ.
The Hawassa Industrial Park Investors Association (HIPIA), in collaboration with GIZ, organized a refresher training on June 26 & 27,2025, for HR managers, compliance officers, health and safety personnel, and key stakeholders.
The training focused on strengthening the implementation of the Protection from Sexual Harassment, Exploitation, and Abuse (PSHEA) policy across factories within the Hawassa Special Economic Zone.
Most factories in the zone have already adopted the PSHEA policy and integrated it into their HR systems. This training was designed to move from policy adoption to effective enforcement on the factory floor—promoting a safe, healthy, and respectful working environment while contributing to industrial peace.
Participants expressed that the session reinvigorated their commitment to fully implementing the PSHEA policy in their respective workplaces.
